What we do
From a single power point to a full rewire. No job is too small, and you will always know the price before we start.

Cloth and rubber wiring is common in the period homes here. A staged rewire brings the house up to standard without tearing it apart.
Power out, a circuit that will not reset, burning smell or sparking. We will tell you if it can wait until morning.

A proper wall charger on its own circuit, sized to what your board can actually carry. Sort it before the car arrives.
Induction, electric oven, hot water and heating. The whole electrical side of going all electric, board capacity included.
Safety switches on power and lighting, hardwired interconnected smoke alarms, and checks before you buy a place.
No job is too small. These are the ones people often think are not worth ringing about, and they are.

Meet Jack
Pender Electrical is one person. When you ring, you get me. When I quote the job, I am the one who comes back and does it, and I am the one standing in your house at the end of it.
That is the whole reason the price holds and the work is tidy. Nothing gets handed to a subbie who has never spoken to you and has no reason to care how it looks when it is finished.
I am based in Reservoir and work across Darebin and the rest of Melbourne's inner north, mostly on period homes that were never wired for how we live now.
Real boards, real installs, all my own work. No stock photos.
No call-out fee. We come, we look, we tell you what it needs and what it costs.
A fixed quote before any work starts. Not an hourly rate, not an estimate that moves once we are on site.
Pensioners and seniors, every job. Mention it when you book and we take it off the quote.
If you do not need the work we will say so. Plenty of what gets quoted as a rewire is really a board and two circuits.
What people say
5.0 from 75 reviews on Google, from people around Reservoir, Preston, Thornbury and the rest of the inner north.
“My stepmum is a pensioner living alone with dementia and her power kept tripping. Jack came the very next day. I felt completely comfortable trusting them in her home unsupervised.”
“He took the time to explain what needed to be done and why. Everything left neat and tidy, and he took all the rubbish with him. Fair, reasonable pricing and great value.”
“He swung by the house within 3 hours of calling, clearly proposed solutions and pricing and returned within a week to complete the bigger parts of the job. Doesn’t push unnecessary extra work on you either.”

Where we work
Based in Reservoir, right through the City of Darebin and across the rest of Melbourne's inner north. If you are nearby and not listed, ring anyway.
Home base. Family streets across Ruthven and Keon Park, anything from one power point to a full rewire.
Post-war brick veneers off High St. Switchboard and safety switch upgrades for modern household loads.
California bungalows and newer townhouses off Sydney Rd. Board upgrades, downlights and safety switches.
Half-renovated weatherboards near Station St. Kitchen and bathroom circuits, extra points and ceiling fans.
Newer brick homes and townhouses. EV chargers, board capacity and going all electric.
We regularly work across Northcote, Fairfield, Brunswick, Fitzroy North, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg as well. The list above is where most of our work is, not a boundary. Ring with your address and we will tell you on the spot whether we can get to you.
No. You do not pay anything just to have us turn up and look. If we quote the job and you decide not to go ahead, that is fine and it costs you nothing.
Fixed price, agreed before any work starts. Not an hourly rate that climbs while you watch, and not an estimate that moves once we are on site. You know the number before we pick up a tool.
Yes, 10% off for pensioners and seniors. Mention it when you ring and it comes off the quote.
Often not. Plenty of what gets quoted elsewhere as a full rewire is really a switchboard and a couple of circuits. We will tell you straight if you do not need the bigger job, because we would rather keep you as a customer than win one invoice.
Yes. Pender Electrical holds Victorian REC licence 33073. Work is done to AS/NZS 3000, and a Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued for prescribed electrical work as required in Victoria.
Yes. Power out, circuits tripping, a burning smell, or a switchboard that is warm to touch. Ring rather than send the form, and we will tell you honestly whether it can wait until morning or whether someone needs to come now.
Sometimes, sometimes not. A charger needs a spare way on the board and enough capacity behind it, and plenty of boards around Preston and Reservoir are already full. We check the board first and tell you whether it is a straight install or a switchboard upgrade as well.
Usually a switchboard with enough capacity, then the circuits for an induction cooktop, hot water and heating. It does not all have to happen at once. Most people do it in stages as appliances fail, and we can plan it so each stage is useful on its own.
Most of my work is in the City of Darebin, so Reservoir, Preston, Thornbury, Northcote, Fairfield and Bundoora. I also cover Coburg, Coburg North, Fitzroy North, Brunswick, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg. If you are nearby and not on that list, ring anyway and I will tell you on the spot.
We will give you a straight answer and a fixed price. If it is urgent, ring instead and we will pick up.
